Leaves, Leaves

Hazen really liked to play in the leaves. He really liked having a rake like jed. We can't wait for the snow! We leave for idaho tomorrow! See you soon!!

Colorado Springs

We had a blast going to visit jesy, mike, madax, and beckett. We saw randi and tyson, and bill and shauna. It was madax's birthday. The boys really played well together and would call to each other whenever they would wake up. We got to go to a park with lots of red rock and tunnels, and a town built just for little kids. Thanks for having us jesy!

Halloween party at my Hazen's House!

We had a big halloween party at our house this year. 10 of Hazen's little friends came over to eat spooky food, search for pumpkins I hid in the yard, and play pin the tail on the cat. The menu consisted of scary cerebrum, eyeballs, cheesy pumpkins, apple bites, and witch's brew. One little girl wouldn't drink the rootbeer with dry ice because it was too scary:) Cute huh! I love halloween and really enjoyed decorating and dressing up. Thanks to all the kiddos who came to play with us! Hazen cried at the door as all of his little friends left.

harvest time!

It was going to freeze in lubbock a week or so ago, so we went out and picked all of our peppers and tomatoes in our garden. Hazen was small enough to get in the middle of the tall pepper plants and pick them, and he sure did enjoy his job. Now whenever he goes outside he runs to the garden and picks the cherry tomatoes that we missed. He likes to garden (play in the dirt) and eat tomatoes!

It's a what??

At the orchard we saw a really neat bug. Hazen just called it a cat. This fuzzy catapillar was quite a sight for a curious little boy. Hazen touched it and seriously got a little creeped out, hence the last photo. That is his icky face. After the bug pooped on jed, it went on the ground and Hazen just watched it crawl away. But kept asking where the cat was for the rest of the day. Very sweet.

Texas Tech Fans

We Love Love texas tech. I really am not a huge football buff, but I really do like Tech and hope they do well this year. So far we are undeafeated!!!! These pics are from the Nebraska game at Tech. We beat them in overtime. It was a great game. My friend Tahna is 7-8 months pregnant and still walked a mile from our parking spot to go to the game! Our husbands go to the game 2 hours early to save seats. What a good time!!!

An apple a day....

We recently went to the apple orchard's pumpkin festival. We had a wonderful morning picking apples and climbing on pumpkins. Hazen loves to eat apples, and chased the other kids around. He almost fell in the fountain they had, and would not stop playing on the rocks. It was a cool misty morning and felt good to be out of lubbock for a bit. We got 4 different types of apples, and I made my first pie that actually turned out! It was yummy. Jed just finished pediatrics and starts surgery on Monday! Yikes!!!

The family photo

We recently went to have our pictures taken since jed's starts surgery soon, and will basically be nonexistent. Hazen was a little difficult and would rather explore the place instead of sit on our laps. He did like the blocks and motorcycle. More to come....

End of summer

I apologize for not blogging in forever. It has been busy in Texas. I wanted to post a few things that we have been up to. Mostly swimming and enjoying the summer. Randi and Shauna came to visit us the first of august. We had a lot of fun with them. Hazen loves his aunt randi! They were really cute together. Jed is in his third year medical school now, and has finished his rotation in family medicine. Next is Pediatrics. He also passed his step 1 board test! Yay! Hazen is a total boy now and only likes trucks, cars, trains, and dirt. And water too. He is such a sweet boy and tries hard to be good. He knows most of the letters and shapes. He grew so fast! I love this age.

Swimming!!

We did swimming lessons this year at Texas Tech Aquatic Center. Jeffrey was our instructor and Hazen really liked him. (He was a friend of randi's from last summer.) He went off the diving board and went under water a lot and loved the boat ride the best. So we got him a swimming pool shaped like a boat that he loves to play in at our house. As long as his dump truck is with him, of course.

World's Worst Haircut

Jed gave hazen a pretty horrid haircut. I came home from work one day and it was already done. I wasn't very happy. Jed said it was awsome and called it a euromullet. It was basically a wide mohawk really long in the back. Jeff helped us shave it off after a few days. Poor Hazen. At least we have pictures to blackmail him with later.

The hot texas summers!

Hazen loves to run through the sprinklers! We went to visit ray and jennifer and the other neighbor girls were running through the sprinklers. Hazen had to try it....even with his clothes on! He would get close to the sprinkler and then turn and run! We turned the sprinkler off and when hazen went right up to it ray turned it back on and got him! He squealed and ran back to me. Hazen is very comical. Interestingly enough though, he would NOT step in the mud.

MAYDAY MAYDAY!!

June 14th. the mayday team ran 72 miles around the whole lake tahoe. The brave runners were: Bill May, Shauna May, Randi May, Katie May, Mike Daniels, Kim Lee(family friend) and Ashley(randi's friend). We each ran a leg of the race and we finished in great time. My leg of the race had some amazing veiws!! I was the last one to run, and at one point at the summit of the mountain, there were cliffs on both sides of me with just a two lane road with no room outside the white line. I was a little nervous, but the cars were all nice to slow down and hug the inside line. It was a long day, but the team accomplished it! I never thought that I could run 10.5 miles!! Thanks to Randi for planting this little seed in our heads. It was a fun thing for the family to do together. I think I will take a while off though. I still have huge blisters on the balls of my feet!!
