Rochester Minnesota, May 2010 to May 2011

Where to start? This year has been an emotional rollercoaster for me. It has been one of trials, learning and growth, frustration and enjoyment. Moving to Minnesota was unexpected, and a little discouraging at first. But we have realized that it was not all bad, and we were truly blessed in our trials. First of all, Jed published many papers in orthopedics and was able to present a paper at a medical confrence last week. And all of his hard work paid off! We matched into orthopedics at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio! We will be moving there next month, and he begins residency mid June. Also Jed and I had a lot more time to spend together this last year which was so great because Jed has been so busy the last few years of medical school. It was so nice to slow down, simplify things, and just be a family. We were really able to focus on what was most important. Perhaps one of the biggest blessings was the incredible people that we have met here. So many wonderful people have loved, encouraged, and helped us on our way. We truly learned to have a little faith in what God has planned for us. So another big move and another adventure is in store! We bought a house in Dayton and can't wait to move in! I haven't exactly enjoyed my small apartment here. Isn't it cute?

We are going to miss Rochester and will always remember the amazing people and experiences we had!

we are back.

Yes, we are alive. Just had a very crazy last few months. Last October, Jed had to go do 3 away rotations in Ohio, Missouri, and Texas. I really didn't want to move the kids around like that, so we just went home to Idaho. My parents came out to Minnesota, and we went down to Nauvoo Illinois to do a little church history learning. Then I went home with them, and spent the next three months going between my parents house, and my in-laws house. We had so much fun! Hazen had a blast playing with his cousins, and having really fun holidays. Jed was able to come to Idaho for a week during Christmas, and then he had to go do more interviews for residency. We joined him back in Minnesota in the middle of January, and have been enjoying being a family again. So, I will try to put up a few pictures of our fun. Jed submitted his rank list for residency, and now we wait...... March 17th is the day we find out where we will be going for the next 5 years of our life! I hate waiting! We will be moving in May, but we don't even know where! So we are doing good just trying to enjoy this calm time in our life before a big move, and intern year of residency!

Rest of the Idaho trip

After the Wedding in Utah, my family had a reunion at our cabin in Island park. We had fun playing games and even had family pictures taken.

Then we went to visit the May's in Twin Falls. We went hiking and played in the dirt a lot. Hazen has a new obsession with flowers and picks them whenever he sees one. He was mowing the lawn with my mom and started crying when she ran over the dandelions in the lawn. Too cute.

Idaho part one

The little boys and I went home to Idaho for a few weeks in June. My nephew, Cody got married in the Mt. Timpanogos temple. It was fun to go back to the place where Jed and I got married. It was great to see my brother and my nieces and nephews again. The next week we had a family reunion at my parent's cabin in Island Park. We played lots of games and ate great food. Hazen had fun playing with Kendall and Quinn, his cousins. He loved throwing rocks in the lake and going on four-wheeler rides. Jevan was just happy to be there. Jed stayed back in Minnesota to get work done of a few research papers. We missed him a lot. More to come on the second half of the trip over at the May's house.

Sorry it has been so long! I have been busy with life, but want to catch up. We have been enjoying Rochester. It is a pleasant place with a lot to do. We Love Minneapolis and go up there about once a month. Mall of America is awsome! There are also lots of water parks around, and Hazen just finished swimming lessons. We also took a trip home to Idaho for my nephew's wedding and my family reunion. More pictures of that to come. Here are some of our hike to Quarry Hill here in rochester. It was a nice day, and we just loved being in the green, green hills. Jevan liked the backpack, and Hazen hiked well going up the hill, but on the way back, he got a piggy back ride. It was just fun to be out in nature.

Pure Sweetness

I. Love. Him. He is just so sweet and happy. He is easygoing and excited about everything. He giggles if you look at him funny and is totally content just playing with his feet for a half hour. He can now roll over from belly to back and watches Hazen very closely. He wants to run with him someday I can stare at him pretty blue eyes all day. I'm in love, and he is my little dreamboat. But I may be a little biased:) My sweet sweet Jevan.

Rochester Parks

So Hazen has really had a difficult time adjusting. He still says things like "lets fly out of here," and "I don't love it here." He has been pretty whiny and stays close to me instead of just playing on his own like he usually does. I don't really think he likes to be in his room. So I decided we are going to get out of the house and see all of the parks in rochester. There is over 100 and so far each one is great. It is so green here, and all the spring buds are out. There are also rivers! Hazen loves to play bombs away. He seriously collects rocks and saves them to throw in the river or lakes. Sneaky decided to go for a swim one day. It was freezing cold, and she just jumps in the river to go get some geese. It scared me, because the dog has never swam before. She quickly got out and shivered while hazen and I finished playing. Hazen is getting better. We have gone to play groups and he is making friends. However, he introduces himself now as "Banamo Joe" and the kids just look at him funny. I can thank grandma may for that nickname. He thinks that is his name and tells me everyday "mom, I'm banamo joe today!" Here are pics of just 3 of the parks we have been to. I didn't have my camera at the best ones. I will update soon.
