surprise, surprise
Well, I thought I should let everyone know that I am expecting. It was a true surprise! I just switched birth control from an iud (i don't recommend mirena) to the pill for medical reasons. A month and a half later I am pregnant! Wow! I was sure the lab tests were wrong. (yes, i work in the lab and tested myself.) So I was very excited and still in shock for a little while, and then got sick, sick, sick. I really am having a hard time even planning for the little one. I have tried two medications, and am barely getting by on 3 doses of zofran a day. Can they put me in a coma until december? Poor Hazen doesn't get out of the house much, all we do in read and draw...and smash cars with monster trucks, of course. He does get fed though...every two hours I try to munch on something and he likes to try some. I really think this one is a girl. Hazen was such a great pregnancy. Got sick once, and felt great other than that. This time I just wish I could get out of the fetal position to do the housework and do work at my job. The good news is that I am now 13 weeks along, and the sickness should be going away, or at least easing up, hopefully. We had an 8 week unltrasound, and everything is great and no, it is not twins. My doctor thought that could be a reason I am so sick, and I about peed my pants when she mentioned it. All the suffering will be worth it come December 30th. It better not be late, I need the tax write off! :) Anyway, hopefully it will pass and I can start planning for a little girl! Jed is excited and has a pretty easy schedule in january so he can be around to help. Hazen seems ok with it too. He brings me his little doll (we used it for potty training use) and holds it carefully and says baby. He will be a good big brother.

2 year old attitude
He really is sweet, but I wonder who taught him to pull this face when you tell him to smile for the camera. He honestly wouldn't take his fingers out of his mouth and be normal. Here is my naughty boy with the sweet and always well dressed, Jade Smith, and the, already sleeping through the night 3 month old, Rylan Meadows. Good friends!
Summer is here!!
It must be summer! All the neighbors come out and play just about every night at ray and jennifers house. We have fun with sidewalk chalk, riding in the barbie car, and sparklers (who needs a reason?) Hazen's bedtime keeps getting later and later. He loves to play with the 3 neighbor girls. He gives lots of kisses then runs off with his arms outstretched like an airplane. Although, summer also means kids out of school with nothing to do. We got egged at the mall last night. We went to the car wash though, and it all came off. Hazen has decided that he doesn't want to take naps anymore. But I still make him have some quiet time in his room. Sometimes this totally backfires and he tries to get wizard the lizard out of his cage, but sometimes it works out nicely and he falls asleep reading his favorite books. He knows when he needs some sleep I guess. I miss nap time. Jed is in psych right now, and has a little bit more time, so he taught hazen some of his great cooking techniques. I thought the aprons was sweet. Hazen really really loves to help.
Well third year is about over and Jed only has one more year left!!!!!! I hear that fourth year is great for the med students and awful for their families. Jed will be doing 2 away orthopaedic rotations next year. The Univeristy of South Alabama is his first destination in August for a month, and then he is going to move to Galveston TX, the University of Texas Medical Branch, in November for another ortho rotation. He is excited to hopefully get in on some great surgeries and find a place to do residency after graduation. I will be staying in lubbock to keep working and take care of the fish tank, I mean our other child, I guess. I am sad to be alone, but it is still a little exciting not knowing what changes will come in the year to come. We may have to move after graduation, but I hope we can stay in our cozy home in Lubbock. Good Luck Jed.
